Ecotrion PO3G is a bio-based polyether polyol produced from 100% plant-derived propylene glycol
Ecotrion PO3G is a bio-based polyether polyol produced from 100% plant-derived propylene glycol and is produced by SK Chemicals in Ulsan, South Korea. Compared to petroleum-based PTMEG, PO3G has a lower carbon footprint, including 45% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
Ecotrion PO3G has the following features:
Ecotrion PO3G has the following features:
- PO3G can replace PTMEG as the soft segment, and although the number of ether bonds increases, it will not affect aging.
- Compared with PTMEG, PO3G is easier to process at both low and high molecular weights.
- Low viscosity, low melting point, slow crystallization speed, good exothermic control, and reduced side reactions.
- PO3G allows the initiation of prepolymer reactions at low temperatures.
- PO3G achieves a unique combination of high tensile strength and exceptionally high elongation.
- PO3G has better uniformity in the one-pot process (1,4-butanediol has higher solubility in PO3G compared to PTMEG).
- In the same PU formula, PO3G has better wear resistance than PTMEG.
